Understanding Video Compression - Part 3 of 4

In our last video we learned that there is a clear distinction between lossless and lossy compression. Lossless compression does not alter or lose data during compression and decompression, but the overall process takes a longer time. Lossy compression is more commonly used than lossless compression. It removes information from the video that a person does not perceive to increase the compression rate. But, how do you know which is right for your KVM application?

Join Product Engineer Garrett Swindell in part 3 of 4 of our Understanding Video Compression Series to discover:

  • Common applications of KVM and how they are impacted by video compression
  • How VNC based compression works and how it can be used in KVM applications
  • Why High-Performance KVM over IP systems can support both lossless compression and lossy compression
  • Three steps for determining which of the compression schemes or KVM systems is right for you.
