Black Box Corporation of Pennsylvania d/b/a Black Box Network Services ("Black Box") values you as a customer and recognizes the need to safeguard the personal information that you provide to Black Box in order to assist us in providing products or services to you. This Privacy Policy explains how Black Box collects, uses and safeguards your personal information.

Black Box works to align with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which is a European Union law focused on data privacy and protection for individuals within the EU and EEA. By aligning to one of the largest and strictest comprehensive data protection standards globally, Black Box utilizes stricter oversight and controls for data protection than most regulations require.

1. Collection

As used in this Privacy Policy, "personal information" means any information that may be used to identify an individual, including, without limitation, name, email address, home, address, title, occupation, industry, or other identifying information. Black Box collects personal information when you contact us, as to be included in an e-mail or other mailing list, submit an entry for a sweepstakes or other promotion, or otherwise submit your personal information to Black Box for any reason.

2. Notice

When personal information is collected, Black Box will inform you at the point of collection the purpose for the collection and will only be used for the purpose stated at collection. Black Box will only collect the minimum required information to fulfill the purpose. To fulfill Black Box obligations, customer data will be retained for a maximum of 7 years after it is last modified. After which time, it will be deleted. Note that at any time you may request to have your data deleted by filling out and submitting this web form.

Black Box's website (this "Site") may use a standard technology called a "cookie" to collect information about how you use this Site. Black Box acts as a Data Controller with respect to personal data collected directly from individuals through this website and its services. Where Black Box processes personal data on behalf of its customers, it acts as a Data Processor, processing data only on documented instructions from the relevant Data Controller. Black Box uses your personal information (i) to fulfill your requests for products and services, (ii) to personalize your experience on this Site, (iii) to advise you of the latest product announcements, promotions or other information of possible interest to you, (iv) to improve the quality of our service to you and (v) to send you, or to have our business partner(s) send you, direct marketing information and survey materials. Black Box will always give you the opportunity to "opt out" of receiving direct marketing information and survey materials. Black Box will only send direct marketing communications where you have provided explicit consent to do so. You may withdraw that consent at any time.

5. Sharing and Disclosure

Because Black Box is a global company, your personal information may be shared with other Black Box parent companies, subsidiary companies or companies under common control therewith around the world. Where personal data is transferred outside the European Economic Area (EEA), Black Box ensures appropriate safeguards are in place through Data Transfer Agreements with Black Box entities in accordance with GDPR Articles 44-49. All such entities are governed by this Privacy Policy or are bound by the appropriate confidentiality agreements. Your personal information may be stored and processed in the United States or any other country where such entities are located. Black Box may disclose your personal information to third parties when (i) Black Box has your consent, (ii) Black Box needs to share your information in order to provide the products or services you have requested or (iii) Black Box wants to keep you up to date on the latest product announcements, promotions or other information of possible interest to you. Black Box will also disclose your personal information if required to do so by law, to enforce our Terms and Conditions of Use or Terms and Conditions of Sale or to protect personal safety, the public or this Site. Black Box reserves the right to modify this Privacy Policy from time to time. For material changes that affect how your personal data is processed, Black Box will notify affected individuals through appropriate means, such as email notification or a prominent notice on this website, prior to the changes taking effect. The date of the most recent revision will be clearly indicated at the top of this policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically, however Black Box will proactively inform you of any significant changes.

10. Compliance

Many but not all countries impose comprehensive data protection laws that regulate all personal data about identifiable individuals. The European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is one example of a comprehensive data protection law, and many other countries impose similar laws equally important. Black Box complies with all applicable data privacy laws, including applicable comprehensive data protection laws, to the extent those laws reach Black Box and its processing of specific personal data.
