CHALLENGE

Driven by business growth and expanding activities, the Indukern Group, a global leader in specialty chemicals distribution for animal nutrition and health, food, pharmaceutical raw materials, chemicals, fragrances, flavours, and PetFood, made the strategic move to a new headquarters in Jundiaí.

With the aim of consolidating all business units and operations into one centralized plant, including the transition of the Premix unit to the new complex, Indukern’s IT team sought a partner who could design, build, and implement the entire technology infrastructure in the new headquarters with a focus on high-quality solutions and a rapid return on investment.

SOLUTION

Thanks to its top-notch quality, service, competitive pricing, and a forward-thinking approach aligned with Industry 4.0 principles, Black Box emerged as the ideal partner for this project.

Black Box started the project by mapping all electrical components, network points and necessary equipment in the new complex. The multidisciplinary project included the implementation of the data center, the cooling space with precision air conditioning and builtin automation, and the entire space segmented by operator racks, servers and core switches.

Black Box was also responsible for implementing networking, wireless connectivity, communications, cabling, and fiber optics in the new headquarters, as well as all electrical systems, access control and CCTV systems for internal monitoring and throughout the entire site, IP telephony system, time clocks, and generators.

Black Box worked on both the IT network (Corporate Network) and the AT network (Automation Network), using a converged network solution with logical separation of the networks. This provides the new space with a highly connected, available, and redundant infrastructure.

RESULT

The new 14,000m² plant now consolidates all the group’s operations in Brazilian territory, including the Premix unit, which previously operated in a different location from the old headquarters. With the successful move to the new headquarters, the main result was a seamless transfer with no impact on business, leading to improved processes for a competitive advantage.

The new plant, which incorporates key Industry 4.0 concepts such as the converged IT and AT network for increased availability and reliability, also benefits from the ease of plant and department expansion, shorter scheduled shutdowns, and reduced downtime.
