Los transceptores SFP (Small Form Pluggable) de cobre, 10/100/1000 BASE-T están basados en el SFP Multi-Source Agreement (MSA). Son compatibles con los estándares Gigabit Ethernet, según lo especificado en el IEEE Std 802.3. Se puede acceder a la capa física 10/100/1000 BASE-T IC (PHY) mediante I2C, permitiendo el acceso a todos los ajustes y características PHY. 10/100/1000 BASE-T es compatible con la autonegociación 1000BASE-X, pero no dispone de la característica de indicación de enlace (RX_LOS se conecta internamente a tierra).
