Streamlined Server Management with ServSwitch CX
The ServSwitch CX simplifies controlling multiple servers by eliminating bulky KVM cables. You connect up to four users to the switch using standard CAT5, CAT5e, or CAT6 UTP cable, running it from the switch's server ports to Server Access Modules (SAMs, sold separately). This allows you to effortlessly mix and match server types (PS/2 or USB) on a single CX switch - just choose the correct SAM for each one.
CX offers superior flexibility and future-proofing. It includes ports for both PS/2 and USB keyboards and mice, accommodating your existing peripherals. For remote users, you can extend a PS/2 console over CATx cable by adding a ServSwitch CX Remote Unit, with models offering optional audio and skew compensation.
Server selection is made easy via either on-screen menus (allowing you to name servers logically) or simple hotkeys. The switch delivers sharp resolutions up to 1900 x 1440 for users up to 164 feet (50 m) away, or 1024 x 1280 at up to 984 feet (300 m). By selecting a SAM with audio support, you also enable stereo speakers for audible alerts.
CX gives you control over your hardware's power. A dedicated power control port lets a remote user reset power switches in the host system. For maximum uptime, dual power connectors allow it to draw power from the included adapter or an optional redundant power supply. It comes ready for installation with rack-mounting hardware and can be flash upgraded, making it ready for future technologies. For larger needs, the switch can be cascaded with the IP-enabled ServSwitch CX version.
