Headquartered in the United States, a global provider of digital technology and transformation, information technology and services, required a new network architecture with reduced cost and complexity, easy management, and better system monitoring capabilities.
The company was looking for a fully wired network solution with numerous features to defend against internal and external spoofing at the network layer for their office in Manila, Philippines. It also needed to complement the mobility solution in the roadmap with cloud-ready, high-performance access and distribution/core-layer devices.
After a thorough analysis of the entire network, Black Box proposed a wired solution from Juniper, providing the high performance, flexibility, and scalability required for both campus and data center access switch environments. When deployed in a Virtual Chassis configuration, these switches deliver the operational simplicity and higher logical scale that the customer had requested. Combining compact, pay-as-you-grow economics, low-power consumption and cooling with the performance, availability and port density of chassis-based platforms, this solution enabled fast and flexible deployment.

Together with the OEM, the Black Box team successfully completed the evaluation of the existing infrastructure, requirements, and proposed Juniper solutions, meeting the customer's expectations. Since the decision-makers were based in India and the installation was to take place in the Philippines, both the Indian and Philippine Black Box teams worked hand-in-hand to present Black Box as a truly global organization with a seamless experience.
From the initial stage of gathering information, understanding the user requirements, and engaging the customer until the solution was finalized through discussions with the stakeholders, i.e. the technical and finance teams, it was ensured that the right components were placed in the core/distribution layer of the network. A consultative approach, a solid understanding of the (scalability) requirements, and references from major networking customers gave Black Box a competitive edge.
The deal registration with Juniper had been approved for another global partner, but the growing relationship globally and the intention to grow in the ASEAN region enabled Black Box to pull the required support to preferential commercials.
