The ServSwitch DVI CATx KVM Extender includes both a local unit and a remote unit, as well as cables to connect the local unit to your computer or server that supports both USB and DVI-D. The local unit has a local DVI-D video output for dual access support when you need to gain access to your computer/server locally.

The remote unit also has four USB 2.0 ports, enabling you to plug in and control high-bandwidth USB storage devices, printers, or other USB 2.0 peripherals.

Plus, through its two USB HID ports, you can connect touch screen, graphical tablets, and similar devices—which makes it ideal for industrial automation and retail applications where this level of interactive connectivity is required.*

Streams the digital DVI-D signals for distant monitoring.
Using compression technology, the extender sends both USB and DVI video over two copper cables, transmitting the digital video stream for high-quality display on a remote 1920 x 1200 screen.

Because it supports HD quality video, the extender is particularly useful in graphic production, medical imaging, R&D, and process control applications where smooth, accurately rendered video is crucial.

Supports dual console and KVM switch connections.
The ServSwitch DVI-D CATx Extender also supports dual-access workstation connections. This way, you can access a computer at both ends of the link. Just connect a USB keyboard/mouse, and DVI-D monitor directly to the computer on the transmitting end and a KVM console with a DVI-D monitor on the receiving end.

To switch between and control multiple remote computer CPUs, simply attach the ServSwitch DVI-D CATx KVM Extender to a KVM switch. In this setup, you can use a connected workstation to access, monitor, and administer several computers from a remote console location. Eliminate multiple workstations in the office to simplify management, save space, reduce equipment expenses, and cut power usage.

*NOTE: Only two USB devices can be used at the same time. For example, a USB keyboard and USB mouse or a USB keyboard and a USB touch screen can be used simultaneously, but a USB keyboard, USB mouse, and a USB touch screen cannot be used simultaneously.
