Search Tips...

Keyword Search
Our search engine uses any or all keywords typed in the text box to give you product search results.
For instance, typing in kvm will give you a broader set of results than kvm switch cables.

Note, however, that keywords in quotes are treated as a single phrase and will not be evaluated individually.

Booleans (AND, +, OR, NOT, -) are not supported.

Also, some keywords will not return results, and may automatically correct to a similar keyword.

Part Number Search Selection
Select this Search in the drop down box to search by part number instead of keywords.

Wild Card Search
The * character is only supported in a limited capacity. Using whole words is the best approach whenever possible.

"New Search" Radio Button
Search the entire section that you are currently in.

"Search Within Results" Radio Button
Enter keywords or a part number to limit your results within the previously searched results.

Other features

A list of all matching product categories or resources will appear in the upper left corner of the results page, when applicable, to help you further narrow your results, if you desire.

Use the "sort by" drop-down menu on the results page to sort by "most popular" and price (low to high or high to low)
in the store section.

    Quick Facts

  • Provides PoE power to end devices on your Gigabit Ethernet network.
  • Has 24 ports available to supply 185 watts of 802.3af power to end PoE devices, such as wireless access points, VoIP phones, and security cameras.

  • Further Details

  • Provides power across unshielded twisted-pair wiring to devices attached to its 20 standard PoE 10/100/1000-Mbps copper ports.
  • Also has four dual-media port interfaces, each of which can be used as either an extra copper 10/100/1000 PoE port or for adding a 1000-Mbps fiber uplink (optional SFP required).
  • Fully compliant with IEEE 802.3/u/x/z/ab/af standards.
  • Manageable via an RS-232 console, or an Ethernet or Web-based connection associated with an SNMP agent.
  • VLAN and QoS prioritization features. Supports Layer 4 TCP/UDP port and ToS classifications with four internal priority queues.
  • Supports LACP port trunking with 12 trunking group and up to 16 ports for each group.
  • Autodetects powered device and consumption levels, and supports per-port consumption monitoring.
  • Enables you to manage bandwidth ingress and egress rates per port.
  • Broadcast/multicast storm suppression restricts excess traffic by port.
  • Port mirroring for monitoring traffic ingress on a port without interrupting data flow.
  • Configure redundant backup bridge paths with 802.1w/802.1s/802.1d spanning tree capabilities.
  • Supports 802.1x access control, IP MAC binding, and management access policy controls.
  • Circuit protection prevents power interference between PoE ports.
  • RoHS compliant.

  • This managed Ethernet switch provides IEEE 802.3af power plus high-speed Gigabit throughput to distributed network devices.

Operating as an end-span Power over Ethernet (PoE) device, the PoE L2 Managed Gigabit Switch is the ideal choice for larger PoE applications. Use it to provide and allocate bandwidth for VoIP and security cameras located in areas without easy access to AC power.

In addition to 20 standard-configuration copper 10-/100-/1000-Mbps RJ-45 ports (Ports 1–20), the switch features four dual-media port interfaces (Ports 21–24), presented as four copper 10/100/1000 RJ-45 ports and four Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP) optical transceiver slots.

Use the dual-media interfaces to attach additional copper PoE devices to the RJ-45 ports or to plug in compatible SFPs for fiber-based Gigabit uplinks. SFPs are available for your required fiber type, mode, connector, and distance (contact our FREE Tech Support for all our SFP choices). You can even mix copper RJ-45 links with fiber SFP links on Ports 21–24.

The PoE L2 Managed Gigabit Switch provides non-blocking, wire-speed switching performance, supports 8K MAC addresses, and offers 9K jumbo frame support.

With extensive management features and SNMP support, the PoE L2 Managed Gigabit Switch can be managed over an IP network or through an RS-232 serial console link.

Even better, using Virtual Stacking Management (VSM), you can “stack” up to 16 switches and manage them all via a single IP link. Because it’s a virtual distributed configuration, no stacking hardware is required.

    Centralized, smart power distribution
By using Power over Ethernet, you can centralize power distribution without additional infrastructure to supply power—no need for any nearby power outlets.

As a PoE end-span device, the switch provides a total of 185 watts of power over copper cable, distributing 48-VAC power across the copper pairs to each individual PoE-compliant end device.

The power draw of each device will determine how many devices can be connected to the switch at any one time. The switch has a total of 185 watts to give out. For example, if your PoE devices require 15.4 watts of power a piece, then you can attach only 12 devices to the switch. However, if the PoE devices require just 7.7 watts of power, then 24 of the devices can be attached to all 24 ports on the switch.

The PoE L2 Managed Gigabit Switch supports per-port consumption monitoring and PoE state settings, and prevents power on one port from interfering with power on other ports.

What’s more, it comes with smart power management and power consumption-reduction features. It autodetects device and consumption levels, and determines the length of the cable to a PoE client (as well as if the client is idle), providing the appropriate level of PoE power to the devices automatically.

A number of management, redudancy, and security features
Full SNMP v.1 and v.2 support makes the PoE L2 Managed Gigabit Switch easy to integrate into any managed network. With an SNMP agent, you can log on to the switch to monitor, configure, and control each port’s activity in a user-friendly way. Manage the switch over an IP network or serially through an RS-232 console connection.

Additionally, the PoE L2 Managed Gigabit Switch supports MAC-based 802.3ad Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP) for increased redundancy and higher availability. You can set up port trunking with 12 trunking groups and as many as 16 ports for each group.

Because the switch supports dynamic failover, packets won’t end up assigned to any trunk member port that has failed. The switch is designed to automatically distribute traffic to the remaining active ports if one of the ports were to fail.

You can also isolate groups to protect certain ports while leaving other ports non-isolated. In this configuration, traffic can only be sent from isolated group to non-isolated group.

Plus, port mirroring helps you to track network errors and abnormal packet transmission by forwarding a copy of each incoming and outgoing packet to another switch port where you can examine it with a protocol analyzer.

Also, to keep broadcast, multicast, and unknown-unicast traffic from flooding your network, the PoE L2 Managed Gigabit Switch features broadcast/multicast storm control, which enables you to set threshold values and control the rate limit for each port.

For securing network access by network devices, the PoE L2 Managed Gigabit Switch boasts IEEE 802.1x access control for port-based and MAC-based authentication. Each network access attempt requires user authentication.

In addition, you can limit the number of MAC addresses per port to control the number of stations for each port, as well as define static MAC addresses for each port to help ensure access only by registered machines.

QoS and VLAN Q-in-Q support, too!
The switch boasts a QoS Control List (QCL) with four internal priority queues, enabling you to provide prioritization and lower latency where it’s most required. Using Layer 4 TCP/UDP port and ToS classification, the PoE L2 Managed Gigabit Switch classifies packets as different priorities. This feature makes it particularly ideal for switching packets in real-time, delay-sensitive VoIP applications.

In all, the switch supports up to 4094 VLAN entries. Additionally, a Q-in-Q feature for subscriber aggregation enables you to boost both VLAN security and performance by using double VLAN tags.

You can isolate traffic between different users and limit broadcast traffic to within the same VLAN broadcast domain. If you have a multisite enterprise, for instance, you can create and maintain private VLANs for separate departments within the structure of your wide-area VLAN. The switch also supports multicast VLAN management for IPTV applications.
