    The LAN Solution Network Tester is just such a tool—it’s a network management device that combines the capabilities of a world-class cable tester with advanced features.

    Using the LAN Solution Network Tester as a Physical Layer device, you get high-end cable testing functions and a length-measurement device that monitors and corrects network problems with Physical Layer and link conditions.

    The tester identifies port services like Ethernet, ISDN, POTS, and Token Ring. At the same time, it reports information such as network speed and the location of switches and other network devices as well as their capabilities. The tester’s PINGing function verifies connections to network devices and also queries NICs in the network’s PCs.

    Unique functions include the ability to detect “Ethernet phantom power” per IEEE 802.3af specifications. The LAN Solution Network Tester can also report current and voltage capabilities of analog phone lines, plus it can map to its remotes while cable testing.
