Keyword Search
Our search engine uses any or all keywords typed in the text box to give you product search results.
For instance, typing in kvm will give you a broader set of results than kvm switch cables.

Note, however, that keywords in quotes are treated as a single phrase and will not be evaluated individually.

Booleans (AND, +, OR, NOT, -) are not supported.

  • The standard models (MC170A–MC171A) automatically re-establish the LAN connection when the modem call is completed.
  • The enhanced model (MC172A) requires you to run a virus scan or other analysis before the network is restored.
  • The enhanced model also comes with a password protection setup program.
  • A switch on the enhanced model enables it to operate in enhanced mode or in standard mode.
  • Because it‘s connected at the wall, the wallplate (MC171A) model makes it more difficult for users to bypass the system. The model features 110 connectors on the rear.

    Your modem is like a doorway to the outside world. But when a network modem is in use, you might as well invite every cybercreep out there to step inside and hack into your LAN.

    Sound risky? It is. But with the BLACK BOX® LAN-Safe Firewall, the bad guys will find the door to your network slammed shut.

    The LAN-Safe Firewall is an external hardware security device designed for PCs or servers that have both Ethernet NIC cards and modems. The LAN-Safe eliminates the risk of a hacker using an inbound or outbound modem connection to gain access to your corporate LAN.

    Although you can use the LAN-Safe at various points on the LAN, it’s primarily for smaller network environments without conventional firewalls and where one or more users access the Internet while their PC is connected to the LAN.

    With the LAN-Safe installed, the LAN connection is physically broken while the modem session is in progress—and your network is effectively safeguarded from LAN damage or security breaches via unguarded Internet connections. Once the modem call is completed, the LAN-Safe automatically restores the link to the LAN.

    You can use the LAN-Safe Firewall in other installations—even those with conventional firewalls that restrict access to high-priority servers while dialup modems are in use. It doesn’t matter whether the server supports the modem connection or if it’s an adjacent server—the LAN-Safe Firewall provides the extra protection your network needs.

    Installation is easy—no training or maintenance is required. Plus the LAN-Safe is powered from the telco line, so you can use it practically anywhere. Choose from standalone or wallplate versions. Our enhanced standalone model enables you to complete a virus scan or another, more specific analysis or audit-type program before re-establishing the LAN connection.
