Search Tips...

Keyword Search
Our search engine uses any or all keywords typed in the text box to give you product search results.
For instance, typing in kvm will give you a broader set of results than kvm switch cables.

Note, however, that keywords in quotes are treated as a single phrase and will not be evaluated individually.

Booleans (AND, +, OR, NOT, -) are not supported.

Also, some keywords will not return results, and may automatically correct to a similar keyword.

Part Number Search Selection
Select this Search in the drop down box to search by part number instead of keywords.

Wild Card Search
The * character is only supported in a limited capacity. Using whole words is the best approach whenever possible.

"New Search" Radio Button
Search the entire section that you are currently in.

"Search Within Results" Radio Button
Enter keywords or a part number to limit your results within the previously searched results.

Other features

A list of all matching product categories or resources will appear in the upper left corner of the results page, when applicable, to help you further narrow your results, if you desire.

Use the "sort by" drop-down menu on the results page to sort by "most popular" and price (low to high or high to low)
in the store section.

  • Networking isn’t always done in climate-controlled offices. Sometimes your Ethernet network is an outright inhospitable environment where the temperature extremes wreak havoc with your office devices’ circuitry. That’s why you need the industrial-strength Black Box® Hardened Ethernet Switch.

The switch is designed to operate in applications where the temperature cannot be controlled, from the withering heat of the desert sun to the numbing cold of arctic conditions.

The case is made of steel.
The rugged, 18-gauge steel case is engineered to function as a heat sink, which draws the heat away from the internal electronics and dissipates it. To minimize the heat dissipation problem further, each switch uses only 15 watts of power.

Built tough, the Hardened Ethernet Switch is virtually impenetrable. Problems such as convection air, insects, dirt, and dust can’t enter it. And if the switch happens to be adjacent to a building fire or a plenum fire, the case will not allow smoke inside to damage the electronics. For complete invulnerability to the elements, the switch can be installed in watertight NEMA 4 metal enclosures for all-weather outdoor operation.

Applications for the Hardened Ethernet Switch include roadside traffic data collection and control stations, industrial plant locations, plenums and ceilings in commercial buildings, and military tents and field sites.

Mix two parts Ethernet with two parts media…
The Hardened Ethernet Switch is available with autoranging power supplies.

The switch features six autonegotiating RJ-45 ports for 10-/100-Mbps applications. These ports operate in either half- or full-duplex mode.

In addition to the RJ-45 port, the Hardened Ethernet Switch is equipped with two ports for full-duplex, 100-Mbps fiber optic connectivity.

This model has two multimode SC ports. Daisychain the switch in “string” applications and create an Ethernet network hundreds of kilometers long! Configurations with more than 10 units in a string have been tested with normal data traffic.
