    • The CATx Multi Video System enables you to send a variety of media over CATx cable to any number of locations far away. System components are inexpensive, and they use ordinary CAT5 cable—which is likely installed at your site already.

    With the system, it’s easy to communicate your message consistently from one content device to video displays or monitors in lobbies, conference rooms, and other areas!

    CATx Multi Transmitters and Receivers share VGA video and analog audio, and support video resolution up to 2048 x 1536 at 70 Hz.

    The receiver featured here is our dual-port (twin video), daisychainable model that supports distances up to 500 feet (152.4 m). It works with our CATx Multi VGA and Analog Audio Transmitters (Single-Port and Quad-Hub). We also offer a non-daisychainable version, as well as receiver models that support greater distances and single-video output, and feature skew compensation.

    No software is needed, and the components are operating system independent. Plus, they’re all plug-and-play and can be rackmounted with the optional brackets for even greater convenience.

    In addition to these CATx Multi components for VGA video and analog audio, we offer systems for:
  • VGA video and RS-232 data extensions.
  • VGA video, stereo audio, and RS-232 data extensions.
  • Component video and SPDIF stereo audio data extensions.
  • VGA video, stereo audio, and pollable RS-232 data extensions.
    However, keep in mind, you cannot mix transmitters and receivers between the different systems.

    Also, for larger systems, see our optionally available CAT5 Multi 1 x 9 Video Distribution Amp (AC1050A). It distributes Composite, Component, and computer video—plus audio and serial signals—to nine displays and takes up only 1U of space. When daisychained, it can support thousands of screens.

    Plus, you can order a CAT5 Multi 16 x 16 Matrix Switch (AC1051A). With it, you can switch signals over CAT5 cable to any number of 16 possible RJ-45 outputs.

    NOTE: The UTP cabling used with the CATx Multi System must be pinned according to the TIA-EIA T568B wiring specification. The system’s units are not designed to operate through an Ethernet network.
