    This Smart-UPS® solution from APC® offers intelligent and economical power backup for your networking environment. Cold-start capable, it provides temporary battery power when your utility power goes out.

    By supplying clean and reliable network-grade power, the Smart-UPS enables you to keep critical data and equipment running during blackouts, brownouts, or other power anomalies. It takes over, providing reliable power to keep your systems on-line. When power returns, the Smart-UPS restarts the connected equipment automatically.

    Power conditioning protects connected loads from surges, spikes, lightning, and other power disturbances.

    It also offers extended range automatic voltage regulation (AVR), which corrects both high- and low-voltage conditions without using the battery, so you have much higher application availability.

    The flexibility of the Smart-UPS:
    Ideal for powering servers, routers, switches, and other networking devices, the SMT3000 provides 2700 W/3000 VA of output power capacity on its power connectors. In all, the UPS has eight NEMA 5-15R outlets as well as two NEMA 5-20R outlets designed to accept plugs that have a special “T” shaped slot. (Its cord has a NEMA L5-30P twisted-lock input connector.)

    The Smart-UPS features a multifunction LCD status and control console for clear, accurate information readout. Configure it locally with its easy-to-use navigation keys.

    You can also control it from a connected console via its RS-232 or USB port. You can even remotely manage it over a network and control it via the APC InfraStruXure Manager® platform.

    In addition, an internal Smart-Slot interface enables you to install various accessory cards depending on your needs.

    The protection offered by the Smart-UPS:
    The SMT3000 boasts a surge energy rating of 530 joules, offers full-time multipole noise filtering (with 0.3% IEEE surge let-through and zero clamping response time), and meets UL® 1449 ratings. Resettable circuit breakers provide quick recovery from overload events. Audible alarms notify you of changing utility power and UPS conditions.

    As a safety feature, the SMT3000 also has an Emergency Power Off (EPO) switch for immediately disconnecting all connected equipment from utility power in case of an emergency. In this situation, the UPS will immediately shut down and will not switch to battery power.

    Battery features of the Smart-UPS:
    Batteries are hot-swappable on the UPS, so you can ensure uninterrupted power to protected equipment while batteries are being replaced. A periodic battery self-test ensures early detection of a battery that needs to be replaced, and audible alarms alert you when a battery is running low.

    What’s more, the Smart-UPS features intelligent, precision charging and temperature-compensated battery charging, which helps to prolong battery life by regulating the charge voltage according to battery temperature.
