    Bridge two LANs at extended distances over ordinary, voice-grade copper as a cost-effective and flexible way to stretch your data network.

    But that’s not all. The 10/100BASE-T Ethernet Extender over VDSL2 also features POTS line connectivity. This way, you can make phone calls over the same line used for data. The extender enables you to extend converged data/voice communications in a simple yet inexpensive way.

    At distances of 984.2 feet (300 m) over 24 AWG wiring, the extender transmits 100-/60-Mbps downstream/upstream data rates. For lower data rates (30-/10-Mbps speeds), it goes as far as 0.6 miles (1 km). For data only without voice, the extender supports distances of up to 2.48 miles (4000 m) at 28-/0.3-Mbps speeds.

    With the 10/100BASE-T Ethernet Extender over VDSL2, you can connect one network to another at distances much longer than what’s possible with standard Ethernet communications—and without the expense of upgrading to fiber. All the necessary conversion is built in, enabling you to take advantage of existing single-pair copper runs between buildings for point-to-point Ethernet connectivity.

    And it features low latency, supporting broadband data communications, including bandwidth-hungry applications, such as video streaming and FTTB (fiber-to-the-building) extensions.

    The extender offers selectable fixed data rates and fixed SNR margin for different ranges of copper lines, as well as selectable Fast and Interleaved modes.

    Each extender has an RJ-45 Ethernet port, an RJ-11 DSL port for the copper interconnection, and an RJ-11 POTS jack, which you can use for a phone or fax machine. DIP switches control master/slave designation.
