The key to getting VoIP and VLAN bandwidth: reliable Quality of Service (QoS)
Enhanced Quality of Service (QoS) classification enables you to ensure that delay-sensitive traffic in real-time VoIP applications receives higher priority.

LGB1003A
L2 Managed Gigabit Ethernet Switch with (2) Dual-Media SFP Ports (LGB1003A)
With 802.1p QoS, you can set up TCP/UDP port and ToS classification at Layer 4 in the OSI model.

PunchList!
Top five VoIP to-do list:

1. Determine if a WAN-wide VoIP upgrade will result in enough savings to justify the hardware expenditure.

2. Check that you have a fast enough Internet connection and can ensure reliable bandwidth at all times.

3. Evaluate your branch offices. Will they have the IT support and contingency plans that ensure QoS and address WAN-related UDP issues, such as latency, loss, and jitter?

4. Make sure you have sufficient backup power. Unlike regular telephone service, VoIP systems need a reliable power source to work during electrical outages.

5. Get a voice readiness assessment from us to help you with the first four action items above to see if you're ready for VoIP.

VoIP.
Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is a cost-saving alternative to traditional telephone service that enables voice data to be transported over IP networks, like the Internet, instead of the public switched telephone network (PSTN) or a cellular network.
VoIP, which operates strictly over IP networks, can connect to other VoIP nodes or traditional phone lines. The IP network used may be the Internet or a private network.Click to continue.

Have a tight server room, which makes servicing connections difficult? Then mount equipment sideways on the wall in a low-profile, easy-access cabinet.
