Black Box Awarded Statewide Contract for Telephone Systems and Services by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA, April 25, 2007 - Black Box Corporation (NASDAQ: BBOX) today announced that the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania recently awarded the Company a contract for the Statewide Procurement for Telephone Systems and Services and Statewide Moves, Adds and Changes (MAC), Cabling and Maintenance of Installed Systems.
The contract, which continues for three years with two additional one-year renewal periods, specifies that all Commonwealth agencies can purchase telephone systems, as well as moves, adds and changes, cabling and maintenance.
"Black Box is excited to continue to provide telecommunication products and services to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for the twentieth consecutive year. This contract will use Black Box offices throughout the state. All state agencies will benefit from Black Box’s One Source™ philosophy for their telecommunication systems, services, maintenance and cabling requirements," said Michael Regan, Black Box Manager.
Additionally, the Commonwealth identified the contract as one that will be made available for COSTAR purchasers. The Commonwealth's COSTAR program allows eligible local public procurement units and state-affiliated entities, such as political subdivisions, public authorities, tax-exempt, non-profit educational or public health institutions and non-profit fire, rescue and ambulance companies, to participate in Commonwealth contracts for supplies, services or construction. Access to the contract through the COSTARS program enables eligible entities to make purchases under the contract at competitive prices or under their own procurement contracts, giving them flexibility to meet their procurement needs.
